Animals like horses, sheep, deer, cattle, dogs, goats, and elephants makes regular visits to the salt sources in nature to obtain the minerals they need such as zinc, iron, calcium, phosphorus, and sodium.
Like human animals also need salt to maintain the fluids level in the body to prevent health problems and need to to remain healthy.
For Animals, consuming slat is necessity for the functioning of a body. To exist, all animals need salt in their diet. Salt is present everywhere, be in tear, sweat, and blood which makes it an important element. So, it is normal for all animals to crave salt to meet their requirement for sodium and calcium with other minerals.
